Duo Use Mini Diamond Flap Disc for Angle Grinders
Short answer: A duo use mini diamond flap disc is an electroplated diamond wheel that mounts on a standard angle grinder and on a compact mini angle grinder. It grinds and polishes granite, marble, porcelain, quartz and ceramic tile with the same disc, so an edge that has just been cut can be shaped and finished without changing tools.
What "duo use" actually means
Most diamond discs are built for one grinder size. This one isn't.
The backing plate accepts the fittings used by both a standard angle grinder and a mini grinder, and that matters more than it sounds. A 100 mm grinder will not fit inside a sink cut-out. It will not sit flat on a narrow return edge, and it is clumsy on curved profiles and thin strips. The mini grinder reaches all of those places.
On most discs, picking up the mini grinder means picking up a different wheel as well. Here you don't. One disc, both machines, same finish.
Materials it handles
Granite — removing saw marks, easing edges, cutting a chamfer. The cut is fast, and the heat build-up is just as fast: work with water.
Marble — softening edges and cleaning sawn faces. Soft stone, so go light on pressure or you will dish the surface.
Porcelain and ceramic tile — dressing cut edges and taking off chips. The disc runs cool on tile; support the tile or it will crack.
Quartz / engineered stone — flattening and blending seams. The hardest material here; start coarse and step down gradually.
Large-format slabs — edge work on big pieces. Work in sections and do not park the disc in one spot.
Grinding first, then honing
The flap segments are diamond abrasive, so the disc removes material the way a grinding wheel does. A coarse disc takes down saw marks and squares an edge quickly. Step through finer grits and the scratch pattern tightens until the surface reads as a clean, even, honed finish.
What you get at the end is not a mirror. Mirror gloss on granite still belongs to resin pads and a variable speed polisher. Knowing that before you buy saves a lot of frustration, and it is why most fabricators keep a flap disc for shaping and resin pads for the final step. The two do different jobs.
Wet or dry
The disc will run dry, and on a small touch-up that is fine. Water is still what keeps an electroplated diamond layer alive. Heat is the enemy here: once the plating starts to lift, the disc is finished.
On granite, quartz and any long grinding pass, run it wet. A light stream is enough. You are cooling the diamond, not flooding the shop.
Getting a disc to last longer
Let the tool do the work. Pressing harder grinds the backing plate, not the stone.
Keep the disc moving. Staying in one spot burns the plating and leaves a hollow.
If your grinder has a speed dial, use it. Slower is usually faster on hard stone.
Rinse the disc after use. Dried slurry in the flaps cuts nothing.
Break in a new disc on a scrap offcut before you take it to a finished edge.

Can I use it on marble without burning it?Yes. Marble is soft, so the risk is not heat but over-grinding. Use light pressure, keep the disc moving, and do not hold it in one place.
Do I need water?Not for a quick touch-up. For anything longer, yes. Water cooling is what gives an electroplated disc a reasonable service life.
How is this different from a resin polishing pad?A flap disc grinds and shapes; a resin pad brings up gloss. They are two steps in the same sequence, not replacements for each other.
Can it replace a diamond cup wheel?Not for flat floor or slab work. A cup wheel covers area; this disc is for edges, profiles, cut-outs and detail work.
